Spend The Holidays in Paso Robles!

Paso Robles Attractions

Holiday Wine in Paso Robles

Are you spending your holiday season in the Central California region this year? Good choice! As a Central California real estate agent, my opinion of the area is bias, but Travel + Leisure named Paso Robles as one of the best towns for the holidays.

For one, they talk about how Paso Robles is painted red for the holidays, as in, Pinot Noirs, Cabernets and Syrahs. During the holidays, you can find numerous low-key events at local wineries, such as wine tastings, musical performances, craft fairs, dinners and more. Plus, there are lots of gift opportunities at these events, such as local crafts and wine bundles.

They especially recommend stopping into Parrish Family Vineyard’s tasting room, with its convenient location in downtown Paso Robles, just a short walk from City Park. On Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, join Parrish Family Vineyard for their Wine.Art.Chocolate. event from 1 to 5 p.m. Enjoy a special wine and chocolate pairing, featuring the Chocolate Stache, which costs $18 plus tax. You can also shop among jewelry made by PasoJules, which uses local stones from Moonstone Beach.

The Travel + Leisure article also recommends the blocks-long Vine Street Victorian Showcase in Paso Robles, with took place this past weekend. That includes a full day of open houses, floats, carolers and more, amid decorated historic homes. It features the history and beauty of Paso Robles and its historic real estate. It’s definitely a holiday favorite among the locals!

For more real estate envy, Travel + Leisure also recommends Hearst Castle, which is about an hour’s drive from Paso Robles. This historic mansion will be adorned for the holidays much like it might have been for its original resident, William Randolph Hearst.

Holiday Twilight Tours are new this year, beginning Dec. 19. This special seasonal tour showcases abundant holiday decorations and numerous Christmas trees throughout the mansion, including two 18-foot-high trees and a poinsettia tree. You’ll also hear stories about holiday festivities that took place there back in its prime.

As you can see, there are many reasons to spend your holiday season in Paso Robles! However, all of Central California is loaded with holiday events. If you keep up with my blog, you know, because I’ve been keeping you updated with holiday activities all month long!

Enjoy the rest of your holiday season. When ready to buy or sell real estate in the Central California real estate market, contact me! As your Central California real estate agent, I’d love to help you accomplish your goals!

How to Quickly Prepare Your Central California Home for Guests

Central California Real Estate

Central California Holidays

Are you hosting a holiday gathering at your Central California home this month? Are you hosting out-of-town guests? Either way, you might be stressed over all the work you need to do around the house.

Porch.com shared tips on how to prepare your home for guests in less than 30 minutes! If you focus on certain areas of the home, your home will look up to par for their arrival in no time. As your Central California real estate agent, I am here to fill you in on which areas to focus on.

  • Decorate your doorway. Your doorway is the first thing guests see and notice when arriving at your Central California home, so if you didn’t have time to decorate this year, just hang a beautiful wreath on your door. This is welcoming, seasonal and festive, and super easy and quick.
  • Organize the entryway. The second place guests see is the entryway inside your home, and first impressions stick. If there is anywhere in the house you should organize, it’s here. Make room for their coats, purses, shoes, luggage, gifts, etc. Decide now where you’ll store all of their belongings.
  • Freshen up the bathroom. Every guest will use your spare bathroom at least once, so take a few minutes to put out fresh towels and to wipe down the sink, mirror, toilet and shower. Consider lighting a candle or placing an air freshener in there.
  • Put out fresh flowers. Even if your home isn’t spotless, putting out fresh flowers can make it seem like you have your stuff together! Choose a bright bouquet or winter-blooming plant and place it somewhere with high traffic, like the kitchen or dining room table.
  • Set the dinner table. Another way to appear organized is to set the table at which you’ll be sitting at for dinner. Do this before the guests arrive, so it looks ready to go. Plates, centerpieces, glasses and napkins will all be fine to sit out overnight.
  • Arrange the living room. Move furniture around so that it’s ideal for socializing. Make sure the space has enough chairs for everyone to sit comfortably, and arrange them so they are facing each other. Set out coasters, clean space off tables, and add throw blankets if guests get cold.
  • Clean out the fridge. You want to make sure there is room in the refrigerator for all the food you’re going to eat, and you want your guests to be able to easily find what they’re looking for, like coffee creamer or snack dip. Wipe down the walls and shelves and change out the odor-absorbing baking soda.

For more tips, check out the Porch.com article. Most importantly, don’t stress out about guests coming over! If you stick to cleaning and organizing the rooms and spaces that matter most, you can make a great impression with your Central California home without scrubbing the place spotless.

When ready to accomplish your Central California real estate market goals, contact me, your Central California real estate agent! Let’s get the show on the road as soon as you’re ready.

Buy a Central California Home in the New Year!

Central California Real Estate

Central California Homebuyers

Is the true gift on your wish list this year a Central California home? Do you relate to Susie in Miracle on 34th Street, who asked Kris Kringle for a house for Christmas? If you don’t find one sitting under your Christmas tree, contact me, your Central California real estate agent! I can help you achieve this dream right now or in the New Year.

Conditions are excellent for buying a Central California home right now, during the winter season. To help you understand why, here are some of the latest real estate headlines.

Now Is The Best Season To Buy A Home – Forbes. This article discusses how the big ticket item on everyone’s wish list this year is, in fact, a house, and that about one million consumers will buy a home between November and January. This is because buying conditions are good, and prices sometimes soften this time of year because of less traffic. Also, Central California homebuyers are trying to beat rising home prices and mortgage rates predicted for 2016.

Real Values of Ownership: What Renters Miss – Realtor Magazine. A writer wrote a forward-looking letter to his grandchildren for The Wall Street Journal about the joys and values of homeownership, and about how renters miss out on these if they continue to rent. He talks about all the memories he and his family made in the home he grew up in. He wrote, “A home is more than an investment. It is the place that helps shape who we are.”

The Residential Rental Market Heading into 2016 – KCM Crew. This post quotes experts, industry reports and articles that cover the residential rental market in the U.S., and it looks like everyone agrees that increases in rental prices have no end in sight. Before your rent goes up in the New Year, it’d be smart to meet with a mortgage lender and me, a Central California real estate agent, to find out what your home-buying options look like. As a homeowner, you are paying your own mortgage and investing in your future!

As you can see, there are some fantastic reasons to buy a Central California home now or soon. The longer you wait, the more you might be spending on the price and your interest rate.

Enjoy your holiday season, but as soon as you decide you’re ready to accomplish the American Dream of homeownership in Central California, contact me, your Central California real estate agent!
